Giant Map of Indiana Education Resource GRANT

THANKS to an ATLAS Grant from the Indiana Geographic Information Office, GENI will deploy 20Giant Maps of Indiana around the state to organizations/collaboratives demonstrating the ability and vision to teach and learn Geography and Geospatial Technologies. The Map will be a permanent resource for your organization to aid in the teaching and learning of 21st Geography and Geospatial Technologies! The GMIN measures 10’ east/west x 16’ north/south and is printed on light-weight vinyl, folds into a manageable size and contains LOTS of information about the state.

Schools, school corporations, libraries, museums, after-school programs, parks, 4-H, FFA, Scouts, historical societies … rural, suburban, urban. All are welcome to apply!

GeoINquiries for a Better Future: Teaching & Learning from a Spatial Perspective

(in collaboration with the Indiana Geographic Information Office ATLAS Grants)

  • Participants WELCOME:
    • Indiana Educators from Schools/Libraries/Museums/Parks/FFA/4- H/After-School Programs/Scouts and more
    • Indiana GIS/Geospatial Professionals
  • GOAL: To create 15 GeoINquiries for Indiana middle and high school (and general public) students and educators utilizing Indiana Geographic Information Sciences and Geospatial Resources connecting users to 21st century Geospatial perspectives about their world and beyond: for example using the IndianaMap, Landsat imagery, drone imagery, images from space, Giant Map of Indiana, Indiana Atlas, Census data, historic Sanborn Maps, LiDAR and more.
  • September 11 - December 15, 2026
