Indiana and You: A Free Indiana Studies Workshop 2.0 (July 15-18)

GENI is fortunate to collaborate with lots of folks and several organizations to offer a four-day Indiana and You: A Free Indiana Studies Workshop 2.0 … for Indiana K+ educators. Although the primary focus for the Workshop will be the high school course, Indiana Studies, materials and content during all four days can be utilized in most grades. The goals for the Workshop is to share ideas and resources about the teaching of Indiana, specifically, the new CitizIN app AND to gather more ideas to improve the teaching of Indiana.

Topics for the four days include the following, revolving around Indiana: CitizenIN, census, IDoE, economics, civics, homeland security, iNaturalist citizen science, remote sensing, Augmented Reality Sandbox and more.

We will visit the IN State Library and the IN History Center.

We will work with Mohamad Kaviani from the IUPUI Economic Education Center and IN Council for Economic Education, Liz Osborn from the IU Center on Representative Government, Katie Springer from the IN State Library, Beth Whitaker from the IN History Center, Megan Compton from the IN Geographic Information Office, Vijay Lulla from IUPUI’s Department of Geography, Matt Walsh from the IN Department of Education and others.
